Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Karachi/Lahore/Islamabad → Hunza/Skardu Region
From Karachi:Morning flight to Gilgit (1h 45m) or Skardu (2h). Continue by road to Hunza (3–4 hrs from Gilgit, 7–8 hrs from Skardu via Jaglot).
From Lahore:Morning flight to Gilgit (1h 15m) or Skardu (1h 40m). Road transfer to Hunza or Skardu hotels depending on arrival.
From Islamabad/Rawalpindi:
✈️ Flight to Gilgit (1h) or Skardu (1h 10m), then transfer to Hunza/Skardu.
🚐 Road option: Drive via Naran Kaghan & Babusar Top (12–14 hrs, May–Oct) or via Chilas & Besham (14–16 hrs, Nov–Apr).
Day 2: Excursion to Malam Jabba
After breakfast, head towards Malam Jabba, the famous ski resort of Pakistan. Enjoy chairlift rides, zipline activities, or simply take in the breathtaking mountain views. By evening, return to Mingora for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Mingora to Gilgit
Today is a travel day. Depart from Swat and drive towards Gilgit via Besham and Chilas, following the Karakoram Highway. This route offers incredible views of rivers and mountains. Arrive in Gilgit late evening and check into your hotel.
Day 4: Gilgit to Hunza
After breakfast, head towards Hunza Valley. Stop at the famous Rakaposhi Viewpoint for photographs before continuing the journey. By afternoon, reach Karimabad, the heart of Hunza. In the evening, explore the lively Karimabad Bazaar. Overnight stay in Hunza.
Day 5: Central Hunza Exploration
Start your day with visits to Baltit Fort and Altit Fort, both offering fascinating history and incredible panoramic views. Later, take a walk through Altit's Royal Garden. Spend the evening enjoying Hunza's local cuisine and culture. Overnight stay in Hunza.
Day 6: Excursion to Attabad Lake & Passu
After breakfast, drive towards Upper Hunza. Visit the turquoise waters of Attabad Lake and enjoy optional boating. Continue the journey towards Passu, where the iconic Passu Cones dominate the skyline. Short trek to Passu Glacier (optional). Return to Hunza for the night.
Day 7: Khunjerab Pass Excursion (Optional/Seasonal)
Embark on a full-day excursion towards Khunjerab Pass, the highest paved border crossing in the world at 4,693m. Enjoy mesmerizing high-altitude landscapes along the Karakoram Highway. In the evening, return to Hunza for overnight stay.
Day 8: Hunza to Islamabad (via Gilgit)
After breakfast, drive back towards Gilgit and catch your transport/flight back to Islamabad. The trip concludes with unforgettable memories of Swat and Hunza.
